Vehicle Rapture

Today I start my new driving school. I am the third daughter to my parents but i will be the first to take my theory test.You see my dad is kind of old fashioned and he has convinced himself that the men should drive for women. That for women to drive is asking too much. I was definitely not be the first to try to convince my dad of letting us drive but when my sisters took a theory test and both failed that only convinced him more than ever that we women should not drive. I had to present the idea to my dad with an "A" on my theory test and some insurance documents. I knew that if he saw I was prepared for an accident with the insurance he would definitely have to trust me.

My mom does not drive she knows how to but chose not to after she married my dad. He likes it that way. Personally I think he just feels more manly when he does things for women. He cares too much about what we think of him. He considers it the gentlemanly thing to do, to care about your girls.

After I presented all of my information to him and pleaded with him about how much it would mean to me if he allowed me to do this, he took me out to practice my behind the wheel driving. I couldn't help but notice how impressed he seemed with my driving skills. He even seemed a bit proud. After showing off my parallel parking skills, the fact that I knew how to merge, and my hand signaling he took me out for a congratulations dinner. We discussed other insurance agencies I had found and debated over which had the best coverage plan. Eventually we came to an agreement and a few weeks later he took me to get my licence.

Now both of my older sisters have retaken their tests and created their own presentations for my overprotective father and now we are all licenced drivers. Dad has definitely enjoyed taking credit for all of our amazing driving skills.
