I hasn't been driving for too long before I heard my first, 'young drivers today speech'. I may have been going slightly fast but that was to compensate for the driver in front of us who was going too slow.Skiphire decided to ride up with us on his bike. He said that he was glad for a change to ride it with no one crawling up his back.
I had fancied getting a bike but never went through with it. I guess I had just got used to driving a carI saw other young drivers similar to me and it felt right. I had this weird thing inside me that kept telling me grown men don't ride bikes. It's still of course a form of transport just a means to get from one destination to another.
I think seeing other young drivers made me feel like I was doing ok. It was a sign that I was keeping up with what everyone else my age was achieving. It was good to be reminded that I wasn't a total failure.skiphire had rode that bike all his life it seemed. It is fair to say it wasn't in the condition it used to be when he bought it but he still loved riding it.
I think he was sentimental like that. I don't know if I could feel that way about a mode of transport. He told me he left her dirty because she liked that. It was amusing I suppose but driving on a quiet road was a joy for me. I started early when I drove a 4 x 4 through my uncles field. I was nervous at first but eventually I just put my foot down and went on a straight path.
I felt sure I'd be ok that way and thankfully I was. I was twenty now, a man in all respects and we were all driving down to my new home. For a time skip would be staying with me which was exciting for both of us. It felt like a new beginning.Thankfully it wasn't too far from my home. It was only a twenty minute ride.
